By 2030, the LEAPXR (Linking Education and Applied Practice for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in eXtended Reality) consortium envisions a transformative integration of entrepreneurship within applied, multidisciplinary XR education and research in health (i.e. targeting deep tech extended reality) across both national and European levels, setting a benchmark for innovation-driven, applied academic frameworks in the Health-tech domain. Our strategic vision is to foster the growth of ten new entrepreneurial ventures each year by 2030, each creating employment for at least ten people, while addressing the challenges and opportunities of a globalized world. By focusing on innovation in healthcare and technology, we aim to develop solutions that transcend national boundaries, ensuring impact on a European scale. Recognizing that successful businesses thrive on robust cross-border networks, we are committed to building and expanding international partnerships to enable these entrepreneurs to grow and compete Europeanwide. European cooperation is beneficial for regional development as it provides regions with access to a broader network of knowledge, expertise, and resources. By working together within the EU, regions can benefit from joint investments in innovation, infrastructure, and research, which stimulate local economic growth. Through active participation in the HEI Initiative and the strategic implementation of the LEAPXR Innovation Vision Action Plan (IVAP), we aim to foster entrepreneurship, innovation and digital competences in (preventive) healthcare. This initiative founded in the European University Alliance E3UDRES2 (Engaged and Entrepreneurial European University as Driver for European Smart and Sustainable Regions) will foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, enhance industry-academic linkages, and provide students and staff with practical, hands-on experience in real-world problem-solving with applying modern technology in the health domain. Ultimately, our vision is to position E3UDRES2 as a hub of entrepreneurial excellence, capable of driving sustainable economic and societal growth by equipping students and professionals with the tools and mindset to launch impactful, tech-driven ventures within the (preventive) healthcare sector.
