In March 2022, the team of the Erasmus+ project "Filling the Gap: Open Educational Resources for supporting teachers in distance learning" spent five days at our campus for discussing project developments and realising the training activity "Close in the distance learning: becoming a tutor"!
The first two days were dedicated to project management: during the TPM (Transnational Project Meeting) we reviewed the work done, planned next steps and discussed how to improve the outputs of our project, the MOOC on distance learning and the Distance Learning Activities Kit (DLAK). Particular attention was paid to how we could be more effective during the second part of the week, the training days on the content of the MOOC and the DLAK.
Subsequently, 30-31 March and 1 April were devoted to the Learning Teaching and Training Activity "Close in the distance learning: becoming a tutor", which aimed to give participants a good basis for testing the MOOC on distance learning in the coming months and gathering feedback on the work already done. Teachers from partner schools and researchers from UCLL were invited to join the project team for the training experience and to give their essential opinions.
After our researchers gave the participants an overview of the structure and modules of the online course, we showed the general technical outline of the platform used. Then each team trained the participants on the assigned topic. Platon and Liceo Fanti presented the first module (Didactic planning), Archilabò on modules 2 (OER) and 4 (Thematic focuses on inclusion and psychophysical well-being of teachers and students), and Bernardin Frankopan School and Colegio Huerta Santa Ana on module 3 (Evaluation). Irecoop ER, as coordinator of the second output, described the kit of distance learning activities (DLAK).
Each presentation was followed by a group work in which all participants discussed general feedback and gave some ideas on how to make content and activities more creative, attractive and informative.
At the end, UCLL University and Irecoop ER summarised the conclusions and next steps, namely feedback integration and platform development.
The project team is very grateful to all participants who worked with us in a dynamic way: these days were really inspiring, we learned a lot from other colleagues, both professionally and personally. At the end of the week, someone said "I felt like I was in a big family!": could not be more true.
So, stay tuned for the next updates on our project website: MOOC and DLAK will be ready soon!
