Let's dance to the inclusive rhythm: An investigation into facilitating inclusion through specific content knowledge in learning and teaching dance to students with intellectual disabilities

Soon more children and young people with disabilities in 'So you think you can dance Belgium'? Pupils with a moderate to severe intellectual disability in special education (type 2) are not always specifically challenged during the physical education (PE) class.
In order to support teachers in their dance didactics, we provide in-service training with, among other things, a detailed dance learning line. In this way we strengthen the teacher sustainably, his or her self-confidence is boosted and pupils have more learning gain. As a result, the threshold to (regular) leisure activities is lowered.
Because of this we will soon be able to enjoy a more inclusive 'So you think you can dance'!
